Reading Repertoire

Apply line, space, interval, and anchor reading in a short piece that moves across the grand staff.

예상 시간:10 min6 / 8

Combine anchors, intervals, and vertical coordination so the piece reads as connected shapes instead of isolated note names.

Reading one note at a time makes the eyes arrive too late for intervals and notes that begin together. Your goal for this lesson is clear: Can you point to the next anchor or vertical event while the current one is still sounding?

01

Read shapes, not isolated letters

Find the first anchor, then follow repeated notes, steps, skips, and direction changes. Confirm letter names only where the pattern changes.

Mark the opening, turning point, and arrival in the illustration for “Read shapes, not isolated letters” (E4, G4, B4, F4, A4). Choose the tempo from the least secure transition, then play through the complete shape once before isolating any correction.

02

Look ahead while playing

Keep the eyes slightly ahead of the hands. At a slow tempo, prepare the next group before the current group has finished sounding.

03

Reading Repertoire at the keyboard

Now take the idea to the keyboard. Practise each hand to the first shared landing point, then join the hands without stopping there.

  1. 1Play the left-hand route and name its anchors.
  2. 2Play the right-hand route and name its largest interval.
  3. 3Combine them while counting every shared beat aloud.
